The Florida Venture Forum, Enterprise Development Corporation of South Florida and the Angel Resource Institute are collaborating to bring you Pitching to Investors Workshop, taught by the Angel Resource Institute's lead instructor, Troy Knauss.

Pitching to Investors is a workshop that teaches entrepreneurs how to give investors an effective pitch. Entrepreneurs that know how to effectively pitch to investors have an exponentially greater chance of security equity investment.

The path to securing equity capital is extremely difficult and competitive. To be successful at raising capital one must –

  • Understand the mindset of investors and what they want
  • Be prepared for the demands of the capital raising process
  • Know how to give an effective pitch

Pitching to Investors will teach you the key fundamentals that you need to get and maintain the attention of early stage investors.

  • Why you must be great
  • Be prepared for the demands of the capital raising process
  • Capital raising documents (*elevator pitch *executive summary *business plan *live presentation)
  • General principles for presentations
  • Common mistakes in pitching
  • How to give an effective pitch

Pitching to Investors also utilizes case studies, expert panelists, and group exercises to help ensure that every attendees leaves with the tools to successfully pitch investors. Pitching to Investors is taught in an interactive classroom-style format that includes presentations, distinguished panel discussions, and case studies.

Troy is a partner in a number of angel funds and networks that invest in high-growth and turnaround companies. Troy has over 20 years of experience in family, growth, and start-up businesses. In addition to his fund activities, Troy is an exited entrepreneur with start-up and growth management experience in food processing, brand building, software development, and eCommerce sales channels. Troy is an active investor in multiple companies.
